Chemical fire breaks out at Grantham industrial unit
Danny SmithA large chemical fire that began in an industrial unit in Lincolnshire has been put out, the fire service has confirmed.
It started at about 14:55 BST in Tollemache Road, Grantham and up to 50 firefighters were sent to the scene.
Eyewitnesses reported "loud bangs" at the site. Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue service advised residents to keep their doors and windows shut.
The fire was brought under control at about 18:30.
Four crews remain at the scene damping down and road closures in Springfield Road, South Parade and Albert Street, remain in place.
