Loughborough murder probe after fatal street stabbing
Leicestershire PoliceA murder investigation has been launched after a man was found in a street with a fatal stab wound.
Mark Swinhoe, 38, from Long Eaton, Derbyshire, died at the scene on Moira Street, in Loughborough, Leicestershire, at about 03:20 GMT on Sunday.
A woman was also found hurt and was treated for minor injuries to her face.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
A car park in Moira Street was cordoned off while forensic examinations were carried out.
Det Ch Insp Martin Smalley said: "Our inquiries are very much ongoing into this incident as we continue to investigate the incident to fully establish the circumstances, trawling CCTV and carrying out searches.
"We urge anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to get in touch. It could help us with our inquiries."
