M606 crash: Man dies after police pursuit
David DixonA man has died after a police chase in Bradford ended in a motorway crash.
Police said a silver Audi A4 failed to stop for officers on Stoney Ridge Road, Heaton at 02:45 GMT and later hit a barrier eight miles away on the M606 motorway.
The Audi driver, a man in his thirties, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
It caused the closure of the southbound M606 between junction 2 and junction 26 of the M62 for several hours.
The slip road from the M606 to the M62 westbound at Chain Bar remains closed for recovery work to be carried out.
