Woman's body found on A15 near Humber Bridge

The body of a 29-year-old woman, from Hull, was discovered on the edge of a lay-by early Wednesday morning

A woman's body has been found next to a dual carriageway in North Lincolnshire, sparking a murder investigation.

The 29-year-old's body was discovered in a wooded area at the edge of a lay-by on the A15 southbound near Barton shortly before 04:00 BST, police said.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody.

Officers had been looking for the woman, who was from Hull, after she went missing and concerns were raised about her safety.

Det Sup Grainne Casey, of Humberside Police, said: "The cause of her death is yet to be determined and a post mortem examination will be conducted in due course."

He said the force was not looking for anyone else in connection with her death, but was following up "a number of additional lines of enquiry".
