Two temporary homeless pods at Hereford bus station relocated
LDRSTwo homeless pods in Hereford's bus station have been relocated to provide more effective support elsewhere, the council says.
The temporary pods were designed to meet the needs of local rough sleepers over winter alongside a converted mobile classroom.
Two were to be at the bus station until April, but have now been moved near to two others by the former classroom.
Herefordshire Council said the station pods were always a "short-term fix".
The council opened the pods in December using funding from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities through the Rough Sleeping Initiative funding framework.
Confirming the relocation, the authority said: "The pods were moved to another location that was identified, where support could be put in place more efficiently and effectively.
"The bus station was only ever a short-term fix as we lost the original venue with a charity partner."
