Worcester museums extend hours to boost visitor numbers
Worcester City CouncilTwo museums are to extend their hours in a bid to attract more visitors.
Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum and The Commandery aim to boost the visitor economy in the northern part of the city.
They attract a combined 80,000 visitors each year, the city council said, and are a great asset to the city.
The museum will be open between 10:00 and 15:00 GMT on Sundays from 1 January and 1 February for The Commandery.
Philippa Tinsley, head of Museums Worcestershire, said: "The changes to opening times reflect those times when visitors are in the city and wanting to make the most of Worcester's heritage and culture."
The Commandery already opens on Sundays and is extending its opening times by one hour, the council added.
