E-scooter rider dies after crash with van in Canvey Island

A man who was riding an e-scooter has died after colliding with a van.

Essex Police was called to Harvest Road in Canvey Island at about 17:50 BST on Friday.

The e-scooter rider, a man aged in his 20s, suffered serious injuries and died in hospital, the force said.

A 49-year-old man from Southend-on-Sea was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and was released on bail as inquiries continue.
