RNLI St Helier crew 'stood down' and station closed
The St Helier lifeboat crew in Jersey has been "stood down" by the RNLI after the charity said relations had "broken down".
Coxswain Andy Hibbs said he had told the organisation the crew would be prepared to operate the station until it was ready to become independent.
Lifeboat cover has been arranged for the island from other Channel Island stations and from France.
