A man is in critical condition in hospital after he had to be cut free from his car following a collision in Jersey.

The 50-year-old man sustained a serious head injury when his Toyota IQ hit a granite wall on La Route De Millais, St Ouen, and overturned at about 17:00 GMT on Tuesday.

He was cut out of the car by the fire service and taken to hospital, after which the road remained closed for five hours while investigative work took place.

Jersey Police has asked for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
