Attempted murder arrest after woman stabbed

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, after a woman was found with stab wounds at an address in Walsall.

The woman in her 50s was attacked in Highgate Avenue at about 19:20 BST on Friday and was in hospital in a serious but stable condition on Monday.

It was understood items were stolen, including money, during the attack, West Midlands Police said.

On Sunday night the force held a 24-year-old man in West Bromwich.
