BBCPraying mantises and scorpions were some of the animals incorrectly imported into Guernsey through the post in 2024, a new report has said.
The Bailiwick of Guernsey Law Enforcement Annual Report 2024 said border enforcement officers dealt with the importation of live animals without a licence on several occasions.
Three praying mantises and three emperor scorpions were sent through the postal system incorrectly, and officers also reported the illegal importation of a number of dogs and a cat.
Certain animals are restricted when travelling across the border and require a licence to legitimately enter the bailiwick.
