Rugby stars visit Devon to 'inspire' future players
BBCTwo England rugby players visited an event in Devon to help teach girls about the sport, with the hope they could inspire future generations.
About 80 girls attended the RugbyFest at Teignmouth Rugby Football Club on Sunday, where they met the players and asked them questions.
Red Roses winger Claudia Moloney-Macdonald said it was an opportunity to thank their supporters.
"For us, it's amazing to get back into the clubs and give back to the individuals who supported us and see how we can influence their journey," she said.
RugbyFest is a nationwide celebration of rugby designed to inspire the next generation through mini-festivals and open days.
Back row player Maddie Feaunti, who started playing rugby when she was 18 years old, said she heard 30 of the girls attending had never played rugby before the event.
"Seeing these girls have the opportunity to play rugby from a very young age is going to be massive for us and England rugby as well," Ms Feaunti said.
"I feel like I'm a little bit shy, but I'm getting to be a little bit out there with them to hopefully inspire them and get them involved.
"It's all about confidence and getting them involved."
Paul Scott, women and girls lead at Teignmouth Rugby Club, said 81 girls attended the event.
"Thirty girls who have not played rugby before have been inspired by the World Cup and want to experience playing," he said.
"For us as a club, it is amazing."
Izzy, Nancy, and Ffion said they liked rugby because it was "fun and enjoyable" and it was a sport for "everyone".
