West Midlands Police personnel met more than 100 people at City of Wolverhampton College to talk about careers opportunities

Prospective college students have had an insight into policing jobs following a visit from local officers.

At an open evening, more than 100 people considering courses at City of Wolverhampton College met personnel from the West Midlands force's offender management, neighbourhood policing and drones units.

They spoke to officers and PCSOs about what daily life in the force might look like, and how they could access career opportunities.

West Midlands Police said the visit was an opportunity for "open and honest conversations about policing", and it had been pleased to highlight the wide range of roles available.

The force attended as part of an open evening for prospective students at the college's new City Learning Quarter campus and the Wellington Road campus, in Bilston.
