Charity grateful for support after heating fails
BBCA charity which had to close after its heating broke has thanked the local community for support it was given.
UnLtd, in St Peter Port, which provides support and services to people with disabilities, did not have sufficient heat for service-users to visit, so closed its doors temporarily, bosses said.
It meant members were unable to have their usual afternoon activities and entertainment, offering carers respite.
After posting about the situation on Facebook, UnLtd said it was flooded with support, including people buying portable radiators, allowing it to reopen.

Development manager Tim Feake said some users disabled could not move much, which made any colder temperatures unbearable, and that temporary heating was providing enough heat to open until the main infrared heating system was fixed.
He said: "It's wonderful to know there are really kind people out there who understand, who get what we do, and realise how important it is.
"There was one lady who got her debit card... bought two radiators, rang me; I drove up in my car and installed them.
"We are now reopen and are a lifeline for many of the people who come here."
He added: "For some people coming to the centre, they might come five days a week, it is the most important part of social contact they have in their lives.
"Its a very positive place where we focus on what people can do rather than what they can't."
