Man in his 80s arrested over woman's death

A man in his 80s has has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police said the woman, in her 60s, was found at an address in Wentworth Avenue on Tuesday shortly before 12:30 GMT. Her family have been informed.

The force said a cordon was in place and people in the area could expect to see an increased police presence while an investigation into the circumstances of the death continued.

The arrested man, who was known to the woman, remains in police custody.
