The A37 near Chelwood has reopened after an oil spill

A main road has reopened after an oil spill led to an extensive clean-up operation.

Avon and Somerset Police said the spillage, which happened at about 08:00 BST on Thursday, had caused a three-vehicle crash on the A37 near Chelwood in Somerset.

The road was shut into the weekend for emergency repairs, but has now fully reopened.

Three people were hurt in the collision, but police said their injuries were not thought to be serious.
