Guernsey Post says it is ready for Christmas rush

Guernsey Post has estimated it will deliver 540,000 parcels this month as it prepares for the Christmas rush.

It reported a 7% increase in seasonal parcel volumes compared with the same time last year - making it its busiest year so far.

Guernsey Post said in addition to the usual busyness during the festive season, it also attributed the increase to the introduction of a new service called myUKaddress, which allows islanders to order items from retailers that do not ship directly to them.

Gregg Stuart, head of operations at Guernsey Post, said the service was "ready to tackle the challenges" of the festive period.

"With four additional Christmas casuals joining us in November and our teams working tirelessly, despite weather disruptions to boat schedules, we're confident in our ability to deliver," he said.
