Man charged after woman injured in knife attack

A man has been charged after a woman was allegedly attacked with a knife at a house in Londonderry.

The incident happened in the Derrymore area of the city on Saturday.

The man, who is in his 50s, has been charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and common assault.

He has also been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He is due to appear before Londonderry Magistrates' Court on Monday.
