A music teacher from the Isle of Lewis has appeared in court charged with sexual offences.

Andrew Yearley made no plea when he appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court last Friday. He was granted bail.

Police Scotland said a 53-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with possession of indecent images at an address in Lewis last Thursday.

Western Isles local authority, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, said it was aware of the police investigation and would not be making any further comment at this time.
