A McDonald's restaurant could be built near a roundabout on the site of a former vehicle repair shop.

An application was submitted to Hull City Council for the drive-thru to be built on Hedon Road to the south west of Marfleet Roundabout.

The fast food chain previously ran a public consultation on the plans with a website launched on 19 June and a deadline for comments by 8 July.

Lichfields, on behalf of the chain, stated in the planning documents that the response was "generally positive" with 76% of residents in support of the plans.

It is expected the restaurant would create 70 full-time equivalent jobs and would be open 24 hours a day, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

There would be 28 car parking spaces at the site, including two EV charging points, as well as six cycle spaces.
