Funding recipient and author Kelly Frost is writing a third novel

A Jersey arts charity has announced some of the successful artists receiving development grants as part of its final funding round of 2025.

ArtHouse Jersey said 2025 had been a wonderful year for development grant beneficiaries with £55,000 being allocated to local artists.

Those selected included Kelly Frost, who writes historical fiction and was in the process of writing her new novel, organisers said.

She said: "I'm looking forward to using the ArtHouse Jersey grant to access some exceptional research libraries and archives across the UK as I work on my third novel."

Milly Warner, a multidisciplinary researcher and designer has been given funding to support her undertaking a residency at ZK/U (Centre for Art and Urbanistics) Berlin to develop her design practice and hone her technical skills.

The final artistic output could take multiple forms such as a sculpture or public installation.

Zak Langlois, member of the band Intermission, was given funding to support the a new Intermission EP of five songs which would be supported by shows in Jersey, Guernsey, Cambridge and London.

He said: "We are super-excited to be working with industry professionals in the Channel Islands and Cambridge in bringing our creative vision to life."

Lolly Waters, comedian and writer, was awarded the grant to support her with presenting a new show at the Brighton Fringe Festival in 2026.

Member of the Songwriters Showcase Barry James has been awarded the grant to support public performances.

Jackie Crichton, currently based in Scotland, is to use her funding to undertake development workshops for her stage adaptation of The Book Tree by Paul Czajak.

Co-founder of the Shorthand Films production company Harry Green was awarded funding towards their new comedy short film Happy Ending.

Nick Baxter, who writes and performs under the artist name Nick Hilder, and Rick Jones, singer-songwriter and guitarist, were each given finding towards new music.

Artist, musician, songwriter, producer and content creator Sam Walwyn was also awarded funding.

He said: "With ArtHouse Jersey's support for this next project, I've been able to take a sigh of relief and relax into creating the best work I can."

'A pivotal moment'

Musician Anna Rieksta said she would use her funding towards singing lessons and having her music professionally recorded.

Amber Hahn, a visual artist moving between glassblowing and writing, said she was to use her funding to support one-to-one glassblowing sessions.

She said: "This development grant has arrived at a pivotal moment, enabling one-to-one mentoring with an experienced glassblower to refine my practice and strengthen future work to be shared with audiences".
