Man, 19, arrested after late-night street brawl

A man has been arrested following a brawl involving up to 40 people in the early hours.

The 19-year-old is being held on suspicion of affray and assault with intent to resist arrest, following the disorder on Stapleton Road in Easton, Bristol, on Sunday.

Officers were called at 01:35 GMT, Avon and Somerset Police said.

No one was seriously injured, the force said, but there were reports that one of those involved used pepper spray – an illegal weapon.

Officers are reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses, while extra patrols are being carried out in the area.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has footage is asked to contact police.
