E-fit image issued following sexual assault

An e-fit image has been released of a man police want to find following a serious sexual assault on Saturday.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called to the Mutley Plain area of Plymouth before 04:00 GMT following reports of a woman being assaulted.

Detectives launched an investigation, putting a scene guard in place at Furzehill Road who has now been removed. They said the victim continued to be supported as inquiries continued.

The man in the image is described as white, between 5ft 6in and 5ft 8in (1.68m and 1.72m) with "blondish hair".

Det Con Victoria Fagan said police had carried out CCTV trawls and house-to-house inquiries and were now releasing an image with "the hope someone recognises the person pictured".

Fagan asked anyone with information to "come forward and contact us on 101 or via our website quoting log 116 of 10 January".
