Man hit by car as he crossed road dies

A 45-year-old man has died after being hit by a car as he crossed a road in Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said he was hit in Ardwick Green South, just after midnight on Sunday morning.

GMP said the driver remained at the scene and the man died shortly after being hit.

A police spokesperson said: "His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers."

There have been no arrests and police have appealed for any CCTV or dashcam footage.
