Arrest after pedestrian injured in hit-and-run
GoogleA pedestrian has suffered life-changing injuries after being struck by a car which did not stop, police said.
The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was struck on Radford Road, Coventry at about 21:45 GMT on Thursday. The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene, West Midlands Police said.
A 27-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving, failing to stop following a road traffic collision, and failing to report a road traffic collision.
He remains in custody while inquiries continue.
"We would ask anyone who was in the area at the time or has any dashcam footage and information to get in touch with us," a police spokesperson added. Information can also be shared anonymously with Crimestoppers.
