Those travelling during busy time have been urged to allow extra time

Le Val des Terres will close from early on Monday to allow streetlights to be replaced and rockfall netting to be repaired.

Guernsey's Traffic and Highway Services said the major route into town was likely to be closed until early on 31 January, so the work can be carried out by Guernsey Electricity and the States Property Unit.

It said the diversion for all road users would be along Colborne Road, La Charroterie, Le Bordage and Fountain Street.

Traffic said it was aware of the impact the closure would have on "peak hour traffic" and urged travellers to leave extra time for their journey and consider alternative modes of transport where possible.
