A man has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of his father.

Thomas Dear Senior, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene after being treated on Lombard Street in Newark, Nottinghamshire, on 16 June. Police said he had pulled over after suffering a "medical emergency" while driving.

His son Thomas Dear was charged with murder last month but at a hearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday, his manslaughter plea was accepted by the prosecution.

The 20-year-old, of no fixed abode, is due to be sentenced on Monday.
