Views sought on 'engaging' play area designs
GoogleResidents are being invited to give their views on the design of two new play areas.
Cumberland Council said it was the latest phase in its plans to "reintroduce modern, engaging play provision" for Whitehaven.
One would be located within the grounds of Bransty School, and open to the public outside school hours, and the other beside new community gardens close to Harbour View Nursing home.
A public consultation for people to share their views and help shape the equipment and design is being held at Bransty School on 29 January, and an online survey is also available.
The Bransty School site would be for children aged four and above, and the one near the community gardens specifically for pre-school youngsters.
Anne Quilter, Cumberland Council's executive member for vibrant and healthy places, said: "These proposals offer a real opportunity to create safe, welcoming spaces for families and children.
"We're keen to hear residents' views as we shape the final designs, and I'd encourage people to take part in the consultation."
Joseph Ghayouba, Councillor for Bransty added: "I'm pleased to see us hitting another key milestone in the delivery of a playpark for Bransty, and I urge as many parents and children to come along to the consultation, and respond online too."
