Plans for up to 350 homes on edge of village
GooglePlans have been lodged for up to 350 homes on the outskirts of a village in Derbyshire.
Hallam Land Management Ltd has submitted a planning application to North East Derbyshire District Council to build a housing development on land west of Coupe Lane in Old Tupton.
According to planning documents, 20% of properties in the proposed development would be classified as affordable in an area where developers said there was an "acute need" for this type of housing.
The applicant said the proposed development had been designed in a "sensitive" manner and would provide a "high quality" housing scheme.
Planning documents said the homes would be built on a site which comprised of 13.86 hectares (34.24 acres) of agricultural land.
A report submitted by developers said: "Our vision is to provide a logical extension to Old Tupton, with approximately 350 new homes in a sustainable location."
It added the proposed development would create a "seamless transition" between existing settlements and the countryside.
An application to build up to 300 homes on the same site was submitted in 2017, however it was later withdrawn in December 2021.
