Heating issues caused by the cold snap across Norfolk have led to school closures

Several schools remain closed in Norfolk due to heating issues amid plummeting temperatures.

Seven schools across the county are still shut on Wednesday, citing boiler faults.

It comes amid a cold snap that saw Marham become the coldest recorded place in the UK on Tuesday - with a low of -12C (9.5F).

A Met Office yellow weather warning for ice is in place until 10:00 GMT.

Chapel Green School in Attleborough announced it would open to a limited number of pupils as it could not get the majority of classrooms to a legal temperature.

Saxlingham Nethergate Primary School, near Norwich, is closed due to ongoing issues with heating and its boiler, but pupils and staff are to attend Preston Primary School instead.

There is a complete list of closures in Norfolk on the county council's website.
