Appeal after man dies after crash

A man in his 60s has died following a crash, Surrey Police has said.

The man was found in New Lane, Sutton Green, just after 17:00 GMT on Wednesday after police received reports a pedestrian had been found by member of the public lying in a ditch by the side of the road.

He was taken to hospital but died from his injuries the following day, police said.

Police said a man in his 80s has attended a voluntary interview in connection to the incident, but has been released under further investigation.

Det Sgt Dan Smith said: "Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the man who has sadly died."

He asked for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage which could help officers investigating the incident to get in touch.
