Plans for 217 homes on town edge approved

Plans to build more than 200 homes in Bolsover have been given the go-ahead.

Bolsover District Council's planning committee voted in favour of a planning application from Lovell Partnerships for 217 homes on land north of Langwith Road during a meeting on Wednesday.

According to a council report, 10% of the homes would be classed as affordable housing.

The document states the development would "significantly contribute" towards the council's housing needs and provide a "good mix" of house sizes.

Documents submitted with the application state the development would be about 19.8 acres (eight hectares) in size and would consist of a range of two, three and four-bedroom properties.

The developer will be required to pay £656,436 towards education in the area and £193,564 in highways contributions as part of a section 106 agreement, according to a report prepared for the planning committee.

Four councillors voted in favour of the plans, with one voting against the scheme.
