Remembrance service in urgent appeal for bugler
Gordon's Photographic BourneAn urgent appeal has been issued to find a bugler or trumpet player to perform at a remembrance service.
The Royal British Legion's Bourne and District branch, in Lincolnshire, said its usual musician was injured and unable to play.
A replacement is needed to perform the Last Post and Reveille at the service at Bourne War Memorial Gardens, which starts at 10:45 GMT on Sunday.
Jake Jacobs, the branch secretary, said a pre-recorded version might have to be played if no one came forward.
Gordon's Photographic BourneHe said: "We’re looking for any trumpeter or bugler who is confident to play. We have a big parade on Sunday and it’s really well attended and supported by the public".
A live performance was very important to the audience and had "more impact", he added.
In previous years, various musicians have taken part, including schoolchildren and buglers from other counties.
However, the branch has contacted schools and made appeals on social media in recent days without success.
Jake JacobsMr Jacobs said he remained hopeful that a replacement player could be found.
"This will be the first year, if we don’t get anybody, that we will have to use an electronic version," he said.
"Hopefully a trumpeter or bugler will respond to our request."
Volunteers should contact the Bourne branch directly if they can help.
