Closing bingo hall to relocate to new premises
GoogleA bingo hall forced to close to make way for a fast food restaurant is moving to another location in the city.
Buzz Bingo on Oslo Road in Hull is to become a McDonalds with the bingo firm moving to the Astoria Club on Holderness Road.
The company has also said the venue will undergo a refurbishment as part of a wider £25m investment plan.
Its regional manager Chris Colebrooke said: "This is a good news story for our community in Hull."
He added: "While it's sad to leave our current home, we're incredibly excited to welcome the Astoria team and its customers into the Buzz Bingo family."
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the company will combine staff currently working at the Astoria and its workers from Oslo Road with no job losses.
The Oslo Road site is set to close on 5 October. The new bingo hall will open at the Astoria two days later and will also have extended opening hours from 11:00 until 23:00 GMT, seven days a week.
