Man charged over disturbance at Manchester synagogue
ReutersA man has been charged with a range of offences in connection with a disturbance outside the Manchester synagogue where two people were recently killed.
Greater Manchester Police said they attended Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in response to "reports of a man acting aggressively" outside the building on Monday.
Christopher Smith, 41, of Daisy Bank Road, Manchester, has been charged with a racially aggravated public order offence, a second public order offence, possession of a Class B drug and criminal damage.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Tameside Magistrates' Court in due course, the force added.
The incident occurred at the Middleton Road synagogue where Jihad Al-Shamie launched a car and knife attack on 2 October.
