Road reopens after repairs to collapsed sewer

A busy road in Nottingham has reopened a month after it was closed due to a collapsed brick sewer.

Part of Upper Parliament Street in the city centre was shut on 23 July after the city council said the damage was causing the road to sink.

Buses were diverted during the closure, which was extended longer than initially expected due to further damage being discovered.

Nottingham City Transport confirmed the road reopened on Friday.

The city council previously said Severn Trent Water engineers discovered the collapsed culvert during investigations into a sewer blockage.
