A 49-year-old man has been found dead on a cycle path in Cambridge.

Cambridgeshire Police said it was called to the path alongside the guided busway, near Long Road, at 03:10 GMT.

Emergency services attended but the cyclist, from Trumpington, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Det Con Les Ellmer said his death was being treated as unexplained.

He added that the man's bike was "bright yellow and quite distinctive".

"I am appealing to anyone who may have seen this man earlier in the morning or evening of yesterday to get in touch with us and help us with our inquiries," he said.
