Delays on A12 after diesel spillage

Drivers are being warned of long delays on the A12 due to a diesel spillage.

Essex Police has closed one lane southbound between Witham and Hatfield Peverel.

National Highways said its contractors were going to assist with the clear-up and warned of 45-minute delays between junctions 22 and 21.

Police asked drivers to "be patient" and avoid the area by using alternative routes.
