Bank on Dave offers to pay burgled shop's repairs
Getty ImagesBusinessman Dave Fishwick, who inspired the Netflix movie Bank of Dave, has offered to pay for repairs after windows were smashed at a charity shop near his office.
The store, which raises funds for Pendleside Hospice, on Keirby Walk, Burnley, was targeted on Thursday.
Mr Fishwick, who launched the company Burnley Savings and Loans - also known as Bank on Dave - to enable local people to take loans, shared a post showing shop workers clearing up afterwards.
He called the break-in "absolutely ridiculous", telling workers: "If you send us the bill for the window, Bank on Dave will take care of it."
Mr Fishwick added "you do a wonderful job at the hospice", which accommodates people needing end-of-life care.

Mr Fishwick rose to prominence as he tried to create a community bank while running a minibus firm, after noticing locals were unable to take out loans after High Street banks refused them.
His efforts inspired two Netflix films, starring Rory Kinnear and Phoebe Dynevor.
