Man charged over death of three-month old baby

A man has appeared in court accused of the manslaughter of a three-month-old baby.

Police said the boy died on 20 October 2023, eight days after officers were called to reports a baby, from Stafford, had been taken to hospital.

Gareth Stark, from Stafford, appeared at North Staffordshire Justice Centre charged with manslaughter and assault / ill-treat / neglect / abandon a child/young person to cause unnecessary suffering.

The 38-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Stafford Crown Court on 9 January.
