Three people have been arrested after a teenager was stabbed during a fight involving a number of people in Dewsbury.

The 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the leg with a bladed weapon during the incident, which happened outside Dewsbury bus station at about 15:00 GMT on Friday, police said.

The boy was taken to hospital where he was treated for an injury which was described as serious but not life-threatening.

He was later arrested on suspicion of affray, along with a 23-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman from Dewsbury who had also been charged with the same offence, according to West Yorkshire Police.

Detectives believed the incident was "targeted", a force spokesperson said.

Suspects were reported to have fled the scene in opposite directions before officers arrived at the scene, they added.

The 23-year-old man and the 35-year-old woman remained in custody, while the 17-year-old boy was still being treated in hospital, the spokesperson said.

Police appealed for anyone who saw what happened, or who had footage from the scene, to get in touch.
