Teenager seriously injured in electric motorbike crash

A teenager has been seriously injured after his electric motorbike crashed in Aberdeen.

Emergency services were called to the city's Tillydrone Road at about 18:00 on Tuesday.

Police Scotland said the teenage male rider suffered serious injuries and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. His age was not released.

The road was closed for about five hours to allow for investigations to be carried out. Police are appealing for information.

Sgt Sarah Ritchie said: "Our inquiries are at a very early stage and I believe the area was busy with other road users at the time who will have witnessed the crash.

"I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have any information about the crash or dashcam footage to come forward."
