Man arrested after armed police called to property

Getty ImagesA man has been arrested after armed police were called to an address in Sowerby near Thirsk.
North Yorkshire Police said an aggravated burglary had been reported just before 05:20 GMT on Sunday and a safety cordon was put in place.
Armed officers, trained negotiators and a police drone worked at the scene until the occupants were brought to safety by 05:52 GMT.
Just after midday, a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and possession of drugs with intent to supply, after being located inside a nearby property.
Police said the victims had been safeguarded and were receiving support while the investigation continued.
