Seatbelts likely saved the occupants of a Renault Clio that crashed in Rutland from death or serious injury, police said.

The car left the A47 on Thursday morning, crashed through a hedge and rolled in a field.

Officers said the driver and passenger "amazingly" suffered a "few small scratches".

However, the driver - who police said only had a provisional licence and an expired international licence - was reported for driving without a licence, having no insurance, and using a defective tyre.
