Emergency repair after pipe damage causes gas leak

Emergency repairs are under way after damage to a pipe caused a gas leak.

Distribution company Cadent confirmed it received a report that one of its pipes in a field off Heywood Road in Diss, Norfolk had been damaged by a third party.

It said a repair team was making "excellent progress", and advised people to keep reporting the smell of natural gas in the area in case it was unrelated to the incident already known about.

"We want to reassure residents that our colleagues will investigate each report that we receive to ensure that there are no other leaks," a spokesman added.
