Police have named a pedestrian who died after being hit by a van in Stranraer as Margaret Joy Todd, known as Joy.

The 85-year-old, from the town, died in the accident - involving a white Vauxhall Vivaro van - at about 10:20 on Saturday 3 January.

The driver of the van was uninjured.

Sgt Scott Costley said: "Our thoughts remain with Joy's family and friends at this difficult time.

"We continue to investigate this crash and would ask anyone who saw what happened, and hasn't yet spoken to officers, to please get in touch.

''Any relevant dash-cam or video footage should also be shared with us as soon as possible."
