Appeal after pedestrians seriously hurt in crash

The collision happened on 5 December, police said.

Two pedestrians have been seriously injured after being hit by a car.

The pair, a 75 year old woman and a man aged 70, were struck by a black Kia Ceed at the junction of Vickers Street and Lower Oxford Street in Castleford.

West Yorkshire Police said the pair remained in hospital after the incident, which took place at about 17:20 GMT on 5 December.

Officers said the the driver stopped at the scene and had been spoken to by officers. They also for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.
