Residents can have their say on proposed upgrades at three Worcester play areas before 6 February

Residents are being invited to share their views on plans to upgrade three city play areas.

Worcester City Council has secured £331,000 from planning-related developer contributions to improve the play areas at Horizon Hub, Ronkswood Hub and Medway Road.

A four-week public consultation is now open, to gather ideas on how the funding should be used, with the aim of completing the improvements by summer.

The new plans propose extending the Horizon Hub play area, creating natural play features using a mature sycamore tree and replacing ageing toddler equipment. A new access point from Stanley Road is also planned.

At Ronkswood Hub, proposals include resurfacing the junior play area, replacing log edging, adding natural play features for toddlers, installing a roundabout and a new secure fence.

Councillor Hannah Cooper, vice-chair of the council's place and economic development committee, said the consultation would give residents the chance to have their say on how local play areas could be improved.

"Once we have gathered residents' views, play equipment specialists will be invited to submit tenders to carry out the work," Cooper added.

The consultation is open until 6 February. Residents can take part and share their ideas via the council's website.
