Police investigating the discovery of skeletal human remains in a tent near a residential street in Hull say they have established the person's identity.

The discovery was made in an alleyway close to Melwood Grove following a call from a member of the public on 11 December.

Det Ch Insp Ben Robinson, who led the investigation, said a post-mortem had been carried out and the death was not being treated as suspicious at this time.

The man's family had been informed and were being supported by specially trained officers, he added.

Robinson said extensive inquires had been conducted and an investigation was ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
