Guernsey Finance's chief executive has resigned following an investigation into what the organisation described as "recent events" it was taking "extremely seriously".

Rupert Pleasant, who has held the role since March 2020, has been replaced by acting CEO Barnaby Molloy.

Guernsey Finance said: "In line with our internal policies, we do not comment on matters relating to individual staff members. However, we can confirm that we are taking this situation very seriously and the issues are being investigated."

The company did not confirm the reason for Mr Pleasant's resignation but said an independent investigation was ongoing. The BBC is attempting to contact Mr Pleasant for a comment.
